what we make it
…as in: it’ll be what we make it. This is an old-school ceilidh sort of happening (bring instruments!). Don’t expect slick programming or well crafted performances! We’re inviting folk - particularly those who were there at the time or connected in some way, to pitch in with memories, stories, reflections, along with poems and songs. This is part reunion, part public event and we’re not quite sure how that will work.
Anyway, here’s a bit of a run down on what to expect, with a dose of unexpected:

others still to be coaxed!
We’ll be there from 2 for folk to catch up or look round but we’ll kick off at 2.45 for 45 - 60 mins depending on the weather. We’ll have some shelter. See below for info on getting there.
Bring waterproofs, camping chairs and wellies.

Getting there (Pollok):
The camp is off the Barrhead Road. The easiest way is to take the path that leads left from the lane opp. Boydstone Rd.
Bus-wise - most busses will be going to Silverburn Shopping Centre. The camp is about 5 - 10 mins walk from the Tesco entrance.

Train
Pollokshaws West is the nearest train station. It’s not easy to get to the camp through Pollok Park itself. Better to turn right outside the station and then right again up Barrhead Road. It’s about 30 mins walk or 5 mins cycle.
Parking
Best to park with respect to local residents near Saint Paul’s High School - either on Carnock Rd or Damshot Rd. There is a small lane but this has limited space for cars so leave this for folk with mobility issues. Please be thoughtful of the folk who live in the cottages further down the lane to the right.
